Rajinikanth in '2.0'

Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming Indian science fiction ‘2.0’ is surely one of the most-anticipated films. The makers of this film are leaving no stone unturned to promote and release this film in a grand way. The team of ‘2.0’ is hoping to convert as many screens as possible into 3D before the release of the film. For the uninitiated, ‘2.0’ has been entirely shot in 3D format.

And while talking about the importance and need of 3D screens, the creative head of Lyca Productions Raju Mahalingam has said, “The film has been shot in 3D, and on a budget of Rs 400 crore. As of now we have only 1500 3D screens in India as opposed to over 10,000 in China. We hope to have more screens converted into 3D and ready for the release of ‘2.0’.” A well-known distributor Tirupur Subramaniam also hopes to have over 300 screens converted into 3D for the release of the film. (Also Read: Here’s when the trailer of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s ‘2.0’ will be launched)

He has said, “Theatre owners are kicked about ‘2.0’. We hope to have over 300 screens converted into 3D for the release of the film. As a Tamilian, I really wish the film does more business than ‘Baahubali 2’.”
