Avatar The Way Of Water Box office: James Cameron’s directorial records a massive second Monday

Avatar The Way of Water, directed by James Cameron has scored massive collections on the second Monday at the box office. The film was released in theatres on December 17. And, it continues to make a good collection. Avatar The Way of Water had opened with collections of 40 crore nett, at the box office.

The James Cameron directorial is currently breaking the records of all Hollywood releases with its huge second week collections. The film is headed to make a phenomenal second week collection approximately around the 100 crore nett range.

On the second Monday, Avatar 2 made collection of 12 crore nett and it seems to be unstoppable. The film saw a drop of only 35% from the last Monday collections, which speaks of its successful run. Despite the release of Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, the collections of James Cameron’s Avatar 2 seem to remain unaffected.

A Box Office India report said that Avatar 2 is now inching closer to the 300 crore mark in India. And, going by the current collections, seemingly, the James Cameron movie is all set to beat Avengers Endgame with its successful run at the box office. Avengers Endgame made a collection of 367 crore nett, while Avatar 2 has done a business of 258 crore nett, so far.

Speaking of Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus, the film saw a major fall in the first Monday box office collections. Despite the Holiday release, the box office collections of Cirkus fell heavily. It saw a drop of around 60%, collecting 2.75 crore nett on the first Monday. The Rohit Shetty directorial had opened at 6.50 crore nett and has so far made a business of 23.50 crore nett only.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Cirkus features Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, among others. Deepika Padukone makes a cameo appearance in the movie.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 has continued its successful run at the box office in the fifth week. The Abhishek Pathak directorial is holding strong in collections and is headed for a phenomenal sixth week. So far, Drishyam 2 has made a collection of around 222 crore nett.
