Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh, Varun Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde had a sluggish start at the box office. However, the opening weekend collections of Cirkus are not that impressive as well. It failed to pull the audience to the theatres as Cirkus managed to rake in Rs 8 crores on Sunday. The opening weekend box office collection of Cirkus is Rs 20.75 crores.

It was expected that the Rohit Shetty directorial venture would see a 40% jump on Sunday; however, it was pretty much a normal jump on day 3 when it should have got a bigger boost than a normal Sunday. Plus, it was a Christmas holiday, and it was expected that Cirkus would bring in more money at the box office. As Ranveer Singh didn’t set the cash registers on fire, the Hollywood movie, Avatar: The Way of Water is a blockbuster already. The film has done exceptionally well as it collected Rs 247 crores in its second-weekend box office collections.

Here’s a detailed breakout of Cirkus box office collections so far:

Day 1 – Friday – Rs 6.50 crores

Day 2 – Saturday – Rs 6.25 crores

Day 3 – Sunday – Rs 8 crores

TOTAL – Rs 20.75 crores

Bollywood Bubble gave Cirkus 3 stars. A part of the review read, “Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty once again gave us a hilarious entertaining movie and well, their charms will do wonders. Cirkus gives a roller-coaster ride of emotions, laughter and a sense of oneness. Nevertheless, Sanjay Mishra, Siddarth Jadhav and Johnny Lever are show stoppers of this comedy-drama.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Gully Boy actor revealed he agreed to do the film in seconds. “It took me like a second. I remember it was in the middle of the afternoon, middle of the lockdown, I got a call while I was on the treadmill. I answered the phone, and he asked, ‘Achha sun ek picture, karega kya’. And my response was, ‘Haan Boss karenge’. It took me 3 seconds.
