When Anurag Basu made ‘Life in a… Metro’, he had cast nine actors for the four anthologies that he created. Now, when the ‘Barfi’ director is planning the second film in the franchise, he needs at least six prominent faces for ‘Life In A Metro 2’.

Few members of the cast have already been locked. Reportedly, actress Parineeti Chopra replaced Sonakshi Sinha to play the lead whereas Rajkummar Rao is expected to star opposite her in the film. Along with them, three other actors are locked for the film and they are – Abhishek Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Taapsee Pannu.

For Taapsee’s portions, which is a funny love story, Basu and Bhushan Kumar were looking for an A-list Gen-Y actor to step in. Talks had started with Arjun Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, but both of them opted out of the film. Then Basu turned towards newbie Ishaan Khatter for the same part but now, we hear he has also declined the offer.

Our source revealed that Ishaan was advised by his mentor filmmaker Karan Johar to not be part of the ensemble cast as he thought it will put him into a certain bracket, very early on in his career. Instead, he and his management team advised Ishaan to concentrate on more solo-centric movies. Incidentally, it’s the same agency that handles Sid’s work, so we aren’t surprised.
