Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri are one of the most adorable couples in Bollywood. It is no secret that the two had an inter-caste marriage. Shah Rukh has often spoken about the struggles that the two had to go through initially in their relationship because of that. The ‘Chennai Express’ actor recalled a hilarious prank that he played with his in-laws during his wedding and it will make you go rofl.

In a throwback interview with Farida Jalal on her talk show, SRK spoke about his wedding reception, he said, “I remember, when their whole family, old fashioned people, I respect them all and respect their beliefs but at that time, in that old-fashioned reception, all of them were sitting there when I came in at 1:15, whispering “Hmmm.. He’s a Muslim boy. Hmm.. Will he change the girl’s name? Will she (Gauri) become a Muslim?”

Shah Rukh is known for his witty humour and that is what he did on his reception too as he decided to pull a prank on Gauri’s relatives as he told Gauri,“‘OK Gauri, put on your ‘burkha’ and let’s read the namaaz now.’ The whole family stared at us wondering if I had already changed her religion already. So I told them, “From now on she will wear a burkha all the time, she won’t ever leave the house and her name will be changed to Ayesha and she will be like this.”

Shah Rukh further said that although he had a lot of fun in this prank, he wanted to put across the point that one should respect religion but it should not come in the way of love.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri got married in 1991 and they have three lovely kids Suhana, Abram and Aryan.
