For the uninitiated, Vicky played Deepak (a Varanasi boy) in ‘Masaan’. His profession was to bury the dead bodies. He played a bereaved lover and his innocence and vulnerability made us fall for his character. He earned a lot of appreciation and was lauded for his pathbreaking performance.

Earlier, during an interview with us, Vicky spoke about how he fell ill one day prior to the release of ‘Masaan’. He said, “When ‘Masaan’ was about to release, Thursday night I went to theatres nearby my house and I remember looking at the posters. I was not nervous but out of excitement, I wasn’t being able to sleep.”

“I was never confident that the movie will do well. I was just looking forward to the reaction of the audiences,” he added.

Deepak’s character will always have a special place in our heart.
