Dhurandhar 2 Box Office: Ranveer Singh’s Espionage Thriller Mints $1 Million In US In Advance Booking

The hype surrounding Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 is only increasing and the film’s advance booking is proof. With just around a week left until the spy action thriller releases in theatres worldwide, the ticket sales for the film’s paid preview shows on March 18 as well as for its opening day – March 19 are in the millions. As per a recent report, the film’s advance box office collection in the US alone has crossed $1 million for next Thursday and $2 million for the entire weekend. Scroll below for a detailed overview.

Dhurandhar 2’s Advance Booking Crosses $2 Million In US

After releasing a 4-minute-long trailer on Saturday, the makers – Jio Studios and B62 Studios , announced that the advance bookings for paid previews worldwide were opened. Along with paid previews, in North America, theatres opened advance bookings for the rest of the opening weekend as well. And the numbers are interesting.

As reported by Hindustan Times, the early trade estimates that by the end of Tuesday, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will rake in over $750K for March 18’s premiere shows alone in US. The advance booking for the spy thriller’s opening day has reportedly comfortably crossed $1 million. The opening weekend mark has reportedly now reached a staggering $2 million.

In India, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has still sold over 3.5 lakh tickets just for paid previews on Wednesday. This sale has grossed the film a whopping ₹19 crore.

Dhurandhar To Break Records?

Currently, the record for the biggest premiere of an Indian film in the US belongs to Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal – it earned $1.2 million from paid previews. With $700K already in its kitty via advance bookings, Dhurandhar 2 is on its way to break the record. The film can also set a new record for the biggest opening weekend in North America by defeating two pan-India films – RRR and Pushpa 2. The Ram Charan-Jr NTR film had an opening of $3.46 million, while Allu Arjun’s film collected $3.34 million. Baahubali 2 also earned around $3 million in its opening weekend almost a decade ago.

Trade projections suggest that Dhurandhar 2 could reach $4 million in the US in its first weekend.

The spy action thriller will see Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor and Gaurav Gera reprise their roles from the first film.

Unlike the first instalment, the upcoming high-octane spy-action spectacle will release in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It will release in cinemas globally – aside from the Gulf belt, Pakistan a couple more countries, on March 19, coinciding with Gudi Padwa and Ugadi. A majority of the paid previews – scheduled to take place on March 18, are on route to become houseful.
