JugJugg Jeeyo Box-Office: Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani starrer opens with decent numbers on Day 1

JugJugg Jeeyo hit the theatres on June 24. The family entertainer starred Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Kohli in key roles. The makers left no stones unturned to promote the movie on huge scale. But given the hype and buzz, the movie couldn’t mint great numbers. JugJugg Jeeyo opened with decent numbers at the box-office on Day 1.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie has opened with Rs. 9. 28 crore on Day 1. He tweeted, “#JugJuggJeeyo opens on expected lines: Gathers speed in evening, after a lacklustre start in morning… Plexes of #Mumbai [select locations], #Delhi, #NCR very good… Mass pockets dull… Growth on Day 2 and 3 essential… Fri ₹ 9.28 cr. India biz.”

Well, JJJ has no big competitors at the box-office. Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj that released on June 3 is still in theatres but JugJugg Jeeyo won’t face a major competition from it as Akshay starrer is already a damp squib at the ticket windows. On its first Saturday and Sunday, JugJugg Jeeyo might earn more given the reviews and word of mouth.

The movie is about two couples from different generations and how they are entangled with issues post their marriages and decide to get divorced.

The Raj Mehta directorial, Dharma Productions backed movie has received positive reviews from critics.
