The crime drama Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan, and directed by Mani Ratnam, had a decent start at the Indian box office. Despite a regional ban in Karnataka, the film managed to collect Rs 15.50 crore on its first day. However, the second day saw a big drop, with earnings falling to Rs 7.15 crore across all languages.
