Actor-turned-politician Vijay Thalapathy continues to dominate political and entertainment headlines after Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s (TVK) massive performance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The party emerged as the single-largest party with 108 seats, placing Vijay on the verge of becoming Tamil Nadu’s next Chief Minister. Amid growing anticipation around his expected swearing-in ceremony, an emotional video of a fan outside the TVK chief’s residence has now gone viral on social media.
Vijay Fan Breaks Down Over Lack Of Police Security Outside Residence
The video, shared by PTI on X, showed a fan kneeling outside Vijay’s residence and offering prayers for the actor-politician. The supporter became visibly emotional while speaking to reporters and questioned the absence of police security outside the house. The fan also expressed concern over the pressure and scrutiny Vijay has faced throughout his political journey.

“I will give my life for Thalapathy. He will definitely become the Chief Minister. The news channels may say many things, but without a doubt, he is the one who will take the position. No matter how many obstacles come his way, he will face them and move forward. I feel deeply hurt. There is not even a single police officer here. I don’t even know what to say. It’s a strange feeling altogether. After struggling so much to come this far, it is painful to see such people doing these kinds of things,” the fan said.
The emotional visuals quickly spread online as political discussions about Vijay’s rise intensified. Earlier this week, Vijay reportedly met Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Arlekar to stake a claim to form the government after TVK’s strong electoral debut.
Thalapathy Vijay Declined Police Convoy Vehicles
Meanwhile, reports also suggested that Vijay declined to use the police convoy vehicles allotted to him as part of the Chief Ministerial protocol before officially taking the oath. According to party sources, the actor-politician chose not to accept the convoy vehicles despite arrangements being made after the election results were announced. A police official reportedly confirmed that the convoy vehicles provided to Vijay “as per protocol” had been returned and not withdrawn.
Until Wednesday, several police personnel had reportedly remained deployed outside Vijay’s residence. However, the viral fan video sparked fresh conversations online after supporters noticed fewer visible security arrangements outside the house.
Fans Gather Outside Nehru Stadium
Adding to the frenzy, several fans reportedly gathered at Chennai’s Nehru Stadium after rumours spread that Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony would take place there on May 7. Videos and photos of supporters waiting at the venue later surfaced online after it became clear that the information regarding the ceremony remained unconfirmed.
Vijay’s political journey has remained under intense public attention ever since he launched TVK. The actor has repeatedly stated that he plans to gradually step away from cinema and focus on full-time politics. However, he has also remained in headlines over recent controversies linked to his final film Jana Nayagan, including reported CBFC certification delays and alleged online leaks from the project. Rumours surrounding his personal life have also continued to fuel online discussions in recent months.
