Aastha Gill Talks About Artists Receiving Exposure Today Amid Music Festivals

When asked how she views the massive change in artist exposure today, especially after music festivals like Lollapalooza, Aastha Gill said, “It’s amazing. What I feel is that right now, the exposure is such for all the artists. Mujhe bas ek cheez ka darr hai ki aane wale future mein hum log overexposed na ho jaayein har cheez se. Because right now, for me as an artist also, when I open my Spotify or something, it’s so difficult to understand what I’m liking now—there’s a barrage of music, so much music being released every day. Usmein achha kya hai, bura kya hai, pick karna bahut difficult ho raha hai, even for me personally.”

She further added, “In this bheed, only the songs that are really shining out will become hits. Toh uss tarashe hue nageene ko dhoondhna aur bhi difficult ho gaya hai. But yeah, about the exposure—I feel we’re blessed. We have so much exposure. When we started, back in time, Instagram wasn’t even that big a deal, but now it’s everything for every artist—you have to be out there. Stage shows, the level of production, joh ab mil raha hai India mein, it’s just crazy, and it’s beautiful to see that all artists are presenting themselves on stage as pop stars, as rock stars. Everything has changed. So it’s a beautiful change, and I think that’s why we are also going global now.”

Aastha Gill Admits She Believes Instagram Reels Add To The Virality Of A Song

When asked whether she believes Instagram Reels help in making a song go viral, Aastha Gill said, “Yeah, 100%. I think Instagram is playing a very big role in making songs big. Matlab, woh 15 seconds ka jo hota hai na—agar un 15 seconds mein logon ko sound samajh aa gaya, toh that’s it. Because ab attention span bahut short ho chuka hai. Do saal pehle short tha, ab aur bhi short ho gaya hai. Ab 10–15 seconds mein hi pata lagana padta hai if people are liking the song or not, which is sometimes unfortunate, I feel. Kyunki kabhi-kabhi 15 seconds mein gaane ka full potential samajh nahi aata.”
