Ajinkya Deo Lalit Prabhakar Ajmal Kasab Prahaar

Released on October 16, Rajkummar Rao-led Prahaar has been receiving much love and appreciation from the public. Not only is the film’s story and Raj’s acting being praised but so is the performance of (predominately) Marathi actor Lalit Prabhakar. For the unversed, Lalit plays 26/11 convicted terrorist Muhammad Ajmal Amir Kasab in the courtroom drama.

During an exclusive conversation with Ajinkya Deo – who plays Inspector Bipin Naria in the drama, the actor got candid about his fellow Marathi actor’s convincing performance. He also spoke about what advise he gave the young star. Read on to know all he shared.

Ajinkya Deo Praises Lalit Prabhakar’s Portrayal Of Ajmal Kasab In Prahaar

When asked what he thought of Lalit Prabhakar’s performance as Ajmal Kasab, Ajinkya Deo said, “Lalit is a very fine actor. I hadn’t worked with him before, and this was our first time working together. I truly felt that he suited the role to a T, and the best part is that he not only looked the part but also nailed the mannerisms like Kasab.”

He continued, “I’m sure he worked a lot on the mannerisms, and he pulled off the Punjabi accent beautifully. It’s a fact that Marathi cinema has always been producing the finest actors, and I’m sure that his performance in Prahaar will open many doors for him in mainstream Hindi cinema.”

When asked if Lalit approached him for any advice – given that he is a veteran actor in Marathi cinema, Ajinkya Deo said, “As for the advice, I believe everyone was well prepared for their scenes and roles. Nobody really needed any assistance, and our director Avinash himself was more than enough, so I guess he did that part.”

About Prahaar

Giving the film a 4-star rating, Bollywood Bubble wrote in its review, “Avinash Arun’s Prahaar is a hard-hitting, well-written courtroom drama complete with nuanced performances by the entire cast. It’s not only gripping and emotionally charged but also stands out despite several projects already being made around the same topic.”

Praising Lalit’s performances in it, the review read, “Lalit Prabhakar as Kasab deserves a round of applause. He’s outstanding and even manages to give you the creeps with the way he stares into your eyes or nervously scratched at his arms. Lalit- who is a well know name in Marathi cinema, has left a lasting impression on all who watch it.” Talking about Ajinkya’s portrayal, the reviewer wrote, “Ajinkya Deo and the rest of the supporting cast all deliver. While they may not have much screen time, they add a layer of emotions, loss and the want for revenge with raw performances.”
