ameesha patel, gadar 2, ameesha patel nepotism

Actor Ameesha Patel was one of the top actresses in the early 2000s after delivering a massive hit with her debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. She then went on to give another hit with Gadar Ek Prem Katha which was released in 2001. Given that she has given such huge hits, Ameesha revealed her journey would have been easier if she came from film background. During a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble, Ameesha spoke about not having any film connections.

Ameesha Patel on being an outsider

When asked if the actresses are being targeted after a movie’s failure, Ameesha said, “I don’t think all heroines were targeted. I think the ones that didn’t come from a film family because we didn’t get any support from outside. The film people who belong to the industry, who’ve grown up here will always have an edge. It’s a fact. People who come from outside make it or attempt to make it in the film industry. Had I belonged to the film fraternity, had been born here and had a Godfather, then even the films that didn’t do well wouldn’t have mattered because I would have time and time had still gotten the biggest films anyway. Also, not having any relationships in the film industry of any sort works against you. But that’s fine. I said maybe I’m just meant for Blockbuster iconic hits.

Ameesha on getting replaced in films

Earlier, actresses were replaced in films and they got to know that they got replaced in the movie like three days before or overnight. When asked Ameesha if she has ever happened to her, she said, “I’ll just say lots of replacements for various reasons have happened. I won’t be specific and put anyone or anything down. I’ll just say that it was someone else’s destiny to get what may have been written for me. It’s my destiny to get what is written for me. And what better destiny than to come in a Gadar 1 and then follow it up with a sequel? So, I have no ill towards anyone.
