Divya Dutta talks about insider Vs outsider

Divya exclusively told us, “Plenty of times, it’s part and parcel of life. Not just in Bollywood but this happens in all the fields,” citing that our field is competitive but these things happen during college admissions as well no one considers nepotism there but it is considered here. “But industry is not an easy place at all neither for insiders nor for outsiders. However, there’s a plus point for the insiders that people know each other in Bollywood. They are well versed with the system and journey, they know the ropes already. When we (outsiders) come, we come with mistakes and a lot of learnings like ‘Oh, we were not supposed to do work like this’ or ‘We shouldn’t be doing this movie,’ or ‘You shouldn’t do a multi-starrer, or a movie with a particular actor.‘”

“But it’s different for the insiders as they get a good launch. Once you’ve started working in movies, it becomes more difficult for them because people have high expectations. Even I want to see so and so star’s child and see what they do and I’ll be judging them more. But if I’m doing something then no one will have any expectations from him. However, no matter how good you are in Bollywood despite being an insider or outsider, people like good work, period. It might take time but people like good actors,” she concluded.
