EXCLUSIVE: DYK, Amitabh Bachchan Apologised To Suneel Darshan For THIS Reason

Suneel Darshan and Amitabh Bachchan first collaborated for Ek Rishtaa: The Bond Of Love. The 2001 film also featured Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor, Raakhee Gulzar, and Juhi Chawla. While promoting his upcoming film Andaaz 2, the filmmaker sat for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble. Suneel praised Big B’s discipline, and recalled an incident when the megastar apologised for being late.

Suneel Darshan Reveals Why Amitabh Bachchan Apologised To Him

Speaking about working with Amitabh Bachchan, Suneel Darshan said, “It was great working with Mr. Bachchan. He was disciplined. He was accommodating. Maine kaha na, ek actor ke career ka woh stage tha, Amit ji was transforming. 58 saal ki umar mein, unhe aisa laga ki ab main hero nahi hoon, aur ab mujhe transition karke character artist banna chahiye. And such a sensible decision he took then. Unhone uss waqt teen-chaar filmein sign ki thi, Mohabbatein, Ek Rishtaa, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, aur Kaante. Ye chaar filmein ek saath sign ki thi. Aur phir wo din-raat kaam karne lage the un filmon ke upar. And itna accommodate kiya tha uss actor ne — it was unbelievable!”

He continued, “Amitabh Bachchan ji se seekhna, kai cheezein, aaj bhi main bolun, agar aap unko bolo, haalaanki unke interviews, unki har ek baat priceless hoti hai, lekin fir bhi, unki ek alag hi value hoti hai. Agar wo apni sari yaadein video karein, toh karodon logon ke liye wo ek inspiration ho sakte hain. Itne disciplined hote the — kabhi late nahi hote the. Ek din wo late aa gaye the, kuch derh ghante. Aur hum log shooting kar rahe the Lokhandwala mein.”

Concluding the filmmaker shared, “Toh sabse pehle unhone mujhe bulaya apni makeup van mein. Unhone mujhse maafi maangi. Unhone kaha, ‘Suneel, dekho main aisa kabhi karta nahi hoon. Lekin mere boodhe maa-baap hain, aur dono raat ko bahut beemar the. Toh sari raat doctor ko attendance mein bulana pada. Main soya nahi… lekin kaam pe pahunch gaya.'”
