EXCLUSIVE: Richa Chadha calls Heeramandi’s Lajjo WEAK, says “Mujhe nahi lagta yeh character strong hai bilkul bhi”

While chatting on Bollywood Bubble’s podcast, Let’s Talk, Richa Chadha got candid about many things, including her character in Heeramandi and why she thinks Lajjo is weak. Read on to know all she had to share.

Richa Chadha calls Heeramandi’s Lajjo weak

Talking about her Heeramandi character Lajjo and the setbacks she faces, Richa Chadha says, “She is an alcoholic, kyuki uski escape wohi hai. Woh uske bina survive nagi kar pati. Usko kissine vaada kiya aur woh vaada tod, unlike the other girls, uska bahut bura heartbreak hua.” (She uses alcohol to escape her reality. She cannot survive without alcohol. Someone made her a promise and then broke it; unlike the other girls/tawaifs, she had her heart broken badly.)

She continued, “Sab bol rahe the strong character, strong character… mujhe nahi lagta isme yeh character strong hai bilkul bhi. Kaafi weak hai – ek toh addiction ke wajeh se aur dusra ki self-destructive ho jaate hai aise log ” (Everyone is saying strong character, strong character – I feel she wasn’t strong at all. She’s very weak. Firstly she’s an addict and then she is self-destructive.)
