EXCLUSIVE: Lataa Saberwal Calls Shivangi Joshi ‘Genuinely Authentic’ As Latter Participates In Lock Upp; Admits, “I’m Not Following The Show But…”

Lataa Saberwal has showered praise on her former Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Shivangi Joshi, calling her one of the most genuine and humble people she has worked with. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress shared her thoughts on Shivangi’s journey on Lock Upp, admitting that while she isn’t following the show regularly, she has caught glimpses of it. Lataa spoke about the rarity of authenticity in today’s world and explained why she believes Shivangi’s true personality will eventually shine through. Lataa Saberwal Calls Shivangi Joshi ‘Rarely Authentic’ As She Participates In Lock Upp

When asked if she is following Shivangi Joshi on Lock Upp, Lataa Saberwal said, “I’m not following it regularly, but I am following bits of it. Yes, I know she’s a very authentic person. Aaj ke time mein authentic log bahut mushkil se milte hain, aur artificial cheezein bahut zyada hain. Mujhe lagta hai ki authentic logon ko accept karna bhi mushkil ho jaata hai because you need to actually know whether a person is genuinely authentic or just acting, especially because they’re actors.’

She continued, “But eventually, everyone will come to know that she is authentic. Actually, she’s very simple. She doesn’t have any kind of attitude or the feeling that, ‘Main yeh hoon.’ She’s so humble. Whenever she would come to my home, she would just sit comfortably on the bed or anywhere, and we would have dinner together. Mujhe kabhi aisa feel hi nahi hua ki koi celebrity mere ghar aayi hai. Bilkul bhi nahi. She’s an extremely simple person.”

Shivangi Joshi and Lataa Saberwal share a warm off-screen bond and a professional history, having starred together on the popular Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Lataa played the beloved on-screen grandmother (Rajshri/Nani) to Shivangi’s character (Naira/Akshara), further strengthening their connection both on and off the set.
