Mohit Malik on Sidhu Moosewala’s demise and Salman Khan receiving death threats

Talking about how it has become dangerous being an artist in today’s time, Mohit shared, ”Yeh sab sunne ke baad toh bilkul lagta hai. I mean kisi bhi artist ko lagega ke yaar aisa nahi hona chahiye. No artist should be killed. Artist toh chhodo, what is happening around the world! It’s bizarre.” The actor shared the intention behind making the show and insisted, “While making this show Chamak Rohit sir he had just one thing in mind. He wanted to send the message across that No artist should be killed through the show.”

He further shared how scary it is for artist to go through such incidents and this should not happen. Mohit avers, “Ye sunke bahut darr lagta hai aur ajeeb bhi lagta hai ki aisa nahi hona chahiye. Protection dena kisi artist ko, ye kyu hona chahiye? (It is scary to hear these things about an artist getting protection and I feel it should not happen).  We should not live like rats. Why does an actor like Salman Khan need security? I mean he is a star and that is a different thing. But this Z category security thing is scary.”

Citing the importance of artists in today’s world, the actor insisted, “I think an artist is somebody, jinki aaj ke planet pe zaroorat hai. Har art ka ek purpose hota hai ki wo ek message de. Toh hume artists ki bahut zaroorat hai and they should not be killed. (We need artists in today’s time as they send out a relevant message through their piece of art). I am sure Sidhu Moosewala is one of the thing. Kitne logo ko problems ho rahi hogi. (So many people must be facing troubles). What happened with him, does scare you as an artist. And we have tried to touch certain aspects in the show.”

Talking about how he was shocked when he heard about the singer’s demise, Mohit shared, “That day I felt, Is this India? Are we safe? Aur wo darr lag raha ki how can such killings happen? You feel scared. What happened, why did it happen, I don’t want to recall but it should not happen.”
