EXCLUSIVE: Priyamani recalls her journey with Shah Rukh Khan from shooting for 5 days in Chennai Express to 100 days for Jawan

Priyamani was recently seen in Shah Rukh Khan starrer action thriller movie Jawan which has turned out to be a massive box office success. The actress has previously shared screen space with him for Chennai Express popular dance number 1,2,3,4 get on the dance floor. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, the actress shared how it was like a dream come true to work with him. She also shared how the actor makes sure women are respected.

Priyamani on working with Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan

Sharing what was her first reaction when she got to know she will work alongside SRK in Jawan, Priyamani said, “I did not show my excitement at all even after the Zoom call with Atlee sir. But yes, deep inside I was like oh my God I’m going to do a film with Shah Rukh Khan. It was like my dreams are coming true because I had grown up watching that man. I’ve seen almost all his films. Chennai Express had me working with him only for 5 days for a song, but here I’m going to be working with him for 100 odd days. For an entire film, I’m going to be sharing the screen space with him. I felt like God is definitely there he’s watching me and he’s kind and he’s saying okay this is meant for you.”

On SRK respecting female co-stars

Shah Rukh Khan is known for respecting women and his female co-stars have revealed his gestures. Talking about how it felt to work around him, Priyamani shared, “Not many people need to do that and I don’t know whether a lot of people do that or not. But for somebody like Shah Rukh Khan to come and say something like that even during the audio launch or success meet speaks volumes about his character. He has seen through so much in his life. For him to come from such a place and from Chennai Express onwards he said that the heroine’s names will come first.”

She further said, “I’m so happy to see that post Chennai Express all the films the actresses names are coming first. Even in this Nayanthara’s name comes first, followed by Deepika and all the other ladies of the film. So I’m happy that that is the amount of respect that he gives to each and every girl, be it an artist like us or the little girl, he treats everybody so equally. That is the love and respect that he get gets from everybody and not only from the women but even from the men. I think that’s a very rare quality that he possesses and I wish that that stays.”
