Radhika Apte Reveals Why She Chose To Work In Manish Malhotra's Saali Mohabbat

ZEE5’s Saali Mohabbat has steadily captured the attention of viewers, emerging as one of the platform’s most compelling and discussed thrillers. Marking Tisca Chopra’s much-awaited directorial debut and produced by Manish Malhotra, the film stands out for its restrained storytelling, emotional depth, and morally layered characters. Driven by powerful performances from Radhika Apte and Divyenndu, Saali Mohabbat moves beyond conventional genre tropes, offering audiences a gripping yet introspective cinematic experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

Radhika Apte Reveals Why She Chose To Work In Manish Malhotra’s Saali Mohabbat

Radhika Apte spoke about why she chose the film, saying, “Before anything else, it was because Manish was starting his own production. And this was the first film he shot. I was overwhelmed when he came to me because I really love him. He is one of the most unique individuals in this industry. With all his success and popularity, he is so humble, so hardworking, and really kind.”

She added, “I was quite moved that he wanted me in his film, and I said yes instantly. Secondly, the difference between this thriller and other thrillers I have done or watched is that we expect thrillers to be fast-paced and action-packed. But this one has a slow burn. It’s not just about someone committing a gruesome crime; it’s more about exploring and investigating the relationship. Instead of a whodunnit, it’s a how-dunnit, and I think that’s more interesting. That’s what drew me towards it.”

About Saali Mohabbat

True to this vision, Saali Mohabbat unfolds as an emotionally charged slow burn. It delves into the complexities of love, obsession, and betrayal rather than relying solely on shock value. The film’s strength lies in its exploration of human behaviour and moral ambiguity. Divyenndu’s layered performance added an unsettling yet deeply human dimension to the narrative. Anchored by authenticity and nuanced storytelling, Saali Mohabbat reinforces why it remains a standout thriller on ZEE5.
