Megha Ray Reveals Her Favourite Diwali Sweets Since Coming To Mumbai
Talking about how Diwali mornings in her home are always filled with warmth and love, Megha shared to Bollywood Bubble, “No matter what the festival is, my mother is the one who brings in all the festive vibes. She’s always aware of how a festival is to be celebrated and takes extra effort to make sure that the flowers, lights, and the whole vibe are set. For me, Diwali morning begins with the fragrance of sweets and the cheerful sounds of children playing because it’s their holiday. The one thing that brings me into the festive spirit is the whole atmosphere everyone at home, a little hustle and bustle, food preparations, and most importantly, the lights.”
Megha Opens Up On What Delicacies She Looks Forward To
Speaking about the delicacies she looks forward to during the festive season, Megha says, “My mom makes amazing gulab jamuns, and I can never stop at one. I also love when my neighbours send me besan ladoos, something I became familiar with in Mumbai. I enjoy rava ladoos and other kinds as well. Being from Odisha, we make pitha, the batter is like dosa batter but prepared differently, with both sweet and savoury versions. We also have our own version of karanji that my mom makes with a filling of chhena, jaggery, coconut, and other ingredients. It’s soft, milky, and very tasty.”
Megha’s heartfelt reflections beautifully embody the true spirit of Diwali—a celebration grounded in light, love, and gratitude. Her words serve as a gentle reminder that the essence of the festival resides in togetherness and mindful joy, inspiring us all to cherish these meaningful moments with loved ones.
