Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files is set to release theatrically next week, on September 5. With just day left until the political drama focused on the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings and the Noakhali riots releases, the film’s cast and crew are busy promoting the film. The film’s producers, Abhishek Agarwal, recently interacted with Bollywood Bubble and opened up about several things including why its title was changed from The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter to TBF. Scroll below to read a few snippets from the exclusive interaction.
Abhishek Agarwal On The Bengal Files’ Title Change
When asked why was the film’s title changed from The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter to The Bengal Files, the film’s producer said, “So initially the plan was to show the film in two parts, we decided first we’ll show Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter and then the second chapter. But that would have created confusion amongst the audience because the film is primarily based on Bengal so why are we telling the audience Delhi, why are we causing miscommunication..”
He continued, “Then we also asked the audience about it and they said if the film is based on Bengal then why are you naming it The Delhi Files. There would often be a discussion about this during the shoot of the film but in the end we all thought the title should be The Bengal Files”
