Tridha Choudhury is all set to return to the big screen with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, stepping into mainstream cinema alongside Kapil Sharma in one of Bollywood’s most loved comedy franchises. Known for her impactful performances across web series and films, Tridha sees this project as a turning point, one that aligns perfectly with her long-standing desire to explore comedy and reach a wider audience.

In an exclusive conversation, Tridha spoke candidly about how working with Kapil Sharma felt like a manifestation coming true and shared her honest thoughts on being typecast in the industry. Read on to know more.

Tridha Choudhury on Entering Mainstream Cinema With Kapil Sharma

Talking about her experience working with Kapil Sharma, Tridha revealed that their first meeting didn’t even happen on a film set. “Sabse pehle humari mulaqat hui thi, set pe nahi, Kapil Sharma ke set pe,” she said, calling the situation amusingly ironic. “Kitna funny hai situation kyunki mujhe humesha se hi comedy film ka shauk tha. I wanted to do a nice comedy film, main mainstream cinema mein ghusna chahti thi.”

She went on to explain how vocal she had been about wanting to work in comedy, specifically with Kapil. She shared, “Maine aisa zikr kiya tha ki comedy karungi toh aap hi ke saath karungi, and here I am playing Meera and he’s my Mohan,” adding that the moment felt deeply special.

What made it even more meaningful was Kapil’s appreciation of her earlier work. “Mujhe lagta hai unko mera kirdaar Aashram mein accha laga tha. Unhone bola tha, ‘Kaash Bobby Deol wala role mil jata,’” Tridha recalled. “So it just worked. I believe in manifestation a lot, and since manifestation is trending, Gen Z can relate- Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 was truly a manifestation come true.”

Tridha Choudhury On Being Typecast In The Industry

Shifting gears, Tridha also addressed the persistent issue of being typecast in the industry, making it clear that she doesn’t believe in limiting an actor’s range.“Main humesha inspired hoti hoon Madhuri Dixit ya baaki kisi actor se, “Aap kabhi bhi unko typecast nahi kar paoge because she has done this and she has done that, unhone saare genres explore kiye hai.”

She acknowledged that today’s industry often tries to box actors into fixed images. “Ye aaj kal ka daur hai jahan log bolte hai ki ‘agar tumne yeh kiya hai toh woh nahi kar sakte.’ No, we are actors, “I think we should be completely free in acting.” Tridha asserted.

For Tridha, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is more than just another project, it’s a conscious step forward. “Main humesha se mainstream mein hona chahti thi. This is my stepping stone to the mainstream, and I don’t wish to look back.”

With Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, Tridha Choudhury embraces comedy, mainstream cinema, and a belief she strongly stands by, the power of manifestation. As she breaks away from stereotypes and explores new genres, the actor is clearly charting her journey on her own terms, driven by clarity, ambition, and creative freedom.
