EXCLUSIVE: ‘Frustrated’ Uorfi Javed Reveals Why She Deleted VIRAL Death, Rape Threats Instagram Story; Says, “No One Gives A F*ck!”

Uorfi Javed On Receiving Death And Rape Threats

When asked about the deleted story post from Instagram where she shared the Death and rape threats she received, Uorfi Javed said, “I deleted it. I had posted some stories regarding all the comments — the compiled comments and all. Arre, kya hi bolun? No one gives a fuck. Honestly, I think I have been the most trolled person. And when I say trolling, for men, people are like, ‘Arre, trolling hi toh hai.’ Aapki sirf trolling hoti hai, aapka sirf mazaak udaya jaata hai. Auraton ke saath sirf mazaak nahi udaya jaata.”

She added, “Auraton ko rape threats diye jaate hain, gandi-gandi gaaliyan di jaati hain, aur death threats bhi diye jaate hain. So, with trolling for women comes other things as well, which are criminally illegal. I just feel like there was a point when I was literally trolled so much. Not just trolled, I received rape threats, death threats and so much abuse. And now, when I look back at it, I’m like, ‘That was a lot.’ But it was what it was. I don’t think anyone cares.”

Uorfi On How Trolls Affect Her

Speaking of how it affects her, the actress said, “It affects my mind, but I am saying that it doesn’t make you mentally strong. A lot of people, when they go through so much trauma, come out really weak. They come out broken. They don’t know how to handle things in their life anymore. It affects other aspects of their life as well. The fact that I look like this person who has become mature and someone who understands things better now doesn’t mean everyone else will too.”

Recent incidents highlight the extent of this hostility: after winning the reality show The Traitors, she posted and later deleted screenshots on Instagram, revealing the vicious backlash she faced, including people obtaining her personal phone number to send abuse, highlighting that such vitriol is a daily reality for women online.

Additionally, her polarising outfits and statements have resulted in various legal complaints and FIRs. Despite these challenges, Uorfi has been outspoken about the mental toll of cyberbullying, often sharing screenshots of her abusers to expose them and criticising the normalisation of misogyny, including condemning comedians who make sexual assault jokes.
