Abhishek Sharrma Holi 2026

Abhishek Sharrma is currently counted among the most promising actors on TV and it’s all thanks to his deep and honest performance as Dev. As we celebrate Holi 2026 today, Abhishek spoke EXCLUSIVELY to Bollywood Bubble and shared what the festival of colours means to him. Alongside that, the actor also recalled some of his fondest childhood memories spent in Meerut and how he celebrates it today.

Abhishek Sharrma Relives Fond Childhood Holi Memories

Speaking about the deeper meaning of Holi, Abhishek Sharrma shared, “For me, Holi has always been more about emotional cleansing than just playing with colours. It’s the one festival where you forgive easily, laugh freely, and let go of your ego without thinking twice. It reminds me that life should not always be taken so seriously – a little fun is necessary.”

Sharing his fondest memories – ones that take him back to his early years in Meerut, Sharrma shared, “My most unforgettable Holi memories are from my childhood, when I was very young. I would wake up early in the morning, quickly put on old clothes, and my mother would apply coconut oil on my body to protect my skin. After that, I would fill water balloons and my pichkari, and then rush outside to celebrate with my friends.”

Describing and reliving the excitement of those days, he added, “I had many friends in the neighbourhood. We would run from one lane to another, from one house to the next, hiding on terraces, chasing each other through the streets, and getting completely drenched. By afternoon, we were unrecognisable, and by evening, totally exhausted but truly happy. And of course, there was lots of delicious food – dahi bhalla, gujiya, and other festive treats. That raw, simple joy of those days is something I still carry with me.”

Abhishek Sharrma Relieves How He Celebrates Holi Today

Despite his busy schedule today, Abhishek continues to follow a meaningful tradition. He shared, “No matter how busy I am, I always begin Holi by applying a small amount of colour to my parents’ feet. Since I am not in Meerut this time, I visit a temple and follow the same ritual there. Earlier, I would first go to my grandparents’ house and then to my parents’. That moment feels grounding for me – it’s more than a celebration; it’s about seeking blessings.”

When asked whether he prefers a dry or wet Holi, he smiles and said, “I enjoy both dry and wet celebrations. I usually start with dry colours, but eventually I end up enjoying the full experience with water and bright colours. For me, the celebration should always be joyful but also respectful.”

Abhishek: Holi Has Become More Curated Now

Abhishek makes an honest comment about how Holi has changed over the years. He satted, “I feel Holi has become more curated now. Earlier, it was very spontaneous – we would just go anywhere, visit friends’ homes, jump across terraces, and celebrate freely. Now, there are organised Holi parties and designated spaces to gather and play. However, I think there is a positive side to this change. People are more aware now about consent, skin safety, and water conservation. That awareness is important.”

He concludes talking about the festival of colours with a simple yet heartfelt thought saying, “For me, the essence of Holi should never change. It is still about connection. Whether it’s a small family gathering or a big celebration, if you have laughed wholeheartedly and hugged someone with warmth, that is Holi for me.”
