Ishita Dixit Recalls Celebrating Holi In A Joint Family As A Child
Talking about what Holi truly means to her, Ishita Dixit said, “For me, Holi has always been about family. I have lived in a joint family since childhood, and there are six of us cousins. We always played Holi together. Most of my core childhood memories are with them, and even today, they are still the closest people in my life.”
Fondly remembering the traditions that made the festival of colours extra special for her during her growing-up years, Ishita shared, “When we were kids, we would go from house to house collecting small contributions for Holika Dahan. We would organise the puja and invite everyone from the colony and neighbourhood. Very weirdly, there used to be those one-rupee Pepsi ice pops, and we would buy and distribute them to everyone. All of us would sit and enjoy together – it felt like something from a much simpler time.”
Reflecting on how life has changed, the actress admitted that she misses those carefree days deeply. She revealed, “I truly miss those days. Back then, no one had phones, and there wasn’t so much technology around. We would have all our fun among ourselves, talk to each other properly, and visit people at their homes. It wasn’t like today, where a phone call or an Instagram message is enough. I feel many of those simple joys are missing from life now. I genuinely believe I lived the best phase of my life during that time — whether it was Holi or any other celebration. So yes, I really miss those days.”
Ishita Dixit: The Way I Used To Think About Holi Earlier Is Not How I Feel About It Now
However, Ishita also revealed that her current relationship with Holi is quite different. The actress shared, “Now, I’m honestly not a big Holi person. I don’t enjoy playing with colours as much because it takes a lot of effort to remove them later. Also, I’m usually busy with shoots around that time. I don’t know – the way I used to think about Holi earlier is not how I feel about it now.”
Through her honest reflections, Ishita Dixit reminds everyone that while festivals evolve with time, the memories made with loved ones remain priceless.
