Today India is celebrating a very special day- the 75th Independence Day. Every year India celebrates Independence Day on August 15. The day marks  India’s freedom from British rule, after a long 200 years battle of suppression by the British. And all the Indians, today, are celebrating the most significant milestone in the country’s history. Independence Day is celebrated every year on this day with great pomp and fervour with PM unfurling the Tiranga on the Red Fort. 1. Shershaah

Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani is one of the latest war dramas which is streaming on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The movie is based on Captain Vikram Batra who played an instrumental role during the Kargil War. His inspirational story and war scenes will surely invoke patriotism in you.

2. Bhuj: The Pride of India

Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj: The Pride of India, which got recently released, is another must-watch I-Day movie. The movie is a period war film directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya and is based on the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The film follows the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik and his team, who reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from the local village Madhapar. 3. Uri: The Surgical Strike

Lakshya, which is one of the must-watch movies ideally depicts the life of soldiers. One cannot miss the movie also because of Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan’s stellar performances. The war-drama film is directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. 4. Kesari

Kesari, which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, pays ode to the extraordinary valor showcased by 21 soldiers. For the unversed, it is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi, which was fought between 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikhs of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen.

5. Raazi

This Meghna Gulzar’s directorial stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. For the unversed, the movie is based on an Indian raw agent, who is married into a Pakistani military family. The film streams on Amazon Prime Video.

6. Rang De Basanti

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s directorial follows the life of a British film student who travels to India to document the story of five freedom fighters. The film, which released in 2006, starred Aamir Khan, Siddharth, Atul Kulkarni, Soha Ali Khan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor, and others. One can enjoy the movie on Netflix.

7. Swades

The drama was written, produced and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Gayatri Joshi, Kishori Ballal in leading roles. 10. The Ghazi Attack

The film is based on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The film stars Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni. The movie streams on Amazon Prime Video.
