And he is hands down one of the most renowned Indian musicians.

Tamasha- ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’

In the year 2015, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor made us all very emotional with the soulful song, ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’. The song from Imtiaz Ali’s directorial, ‘Tamasha’ went on to become one of the most loved songs, which is sung by Alka Yagnik and Arijit Singh. The song is composed by Rahman and instantly touches your heart and make you feel the pain of unrequited love.

 Highway- ‘Maahi Ve’

Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda’s stellar onscreen performance in ‘Highway’ brought many accolades for them. The film was helmed by Imtiaz Ali and its music is composed by A R Rahman. The song ‘Maahi Ve’ was one of the highlights of this much talked about film. Rahman himself has sung this song.

 Raanjhanaa- ‘Tum Tak’

One of the main reasons why Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush’s film, ‘Raanjhanaa’ did wonders at the box-office was its amazing soundtrack. Although Sonam, Abhay Deol and Dhanush made their presence felt in the movie with their terrific performances, the film’s music was its soul. Songs such as ‘Tum Tak’ and ‘Nazar Laye Na’ composed by Rahman are still very popular with the music aficionados.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan- ‘Jiya Re’

Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif starrer, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ was the last directorial of the legendary filmmaker, Yash Chopra. Although the film couldn’t make a remarkable business at the box-office, the songs of its soundtrack were loved by the audience. The fresh tunes of the song ‘Jiya Re’ and ‘Challa’ make you instantly get up and dance.

Rockstar -‘Kun Faaya Kun’

Imtiaz Ali’s directorial, ‘Rockstar’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor went to become a huge success at the box-office. The film has some heartfelt songs such as ‘Naadaan Parinde’ and ‘Kun Faaya Kun’. AR Rahman who is known for creating such amazing Sufi music has composed these melodious songs. The soundtrack of ‘Rockstar’ is the most cherished gift to all music lovers by AR Rahman.

‘Saathiya’ Title Track

Rani Mukerji and Vivek Oberoi’s romantic drama has some of the most romantic songs and fresh tunes. The title track of the film, ‘Saathiya’ went on to become one of the most loved songs. Its beautiful lyrics were penned by Gulzar, while Sonu Nigam has sung the song. AR Rahman once again gave die-hard romantics one of the best albums with this film.

 

Lagaan- ‘O Re Chori’

Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh’s innocent on-screen chemistry brought huge success for the makers of ‘Lagaan’. The beautiful amalgamation of Hindi and English lines in the song ‘O Re Chori’ was loved by many. The song was sung by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Vasundhara Das.
