It is one of the saddest days for Akshay Kumar as his mother Aruna Bhatia passed away today. The actor took to his social media to announce the heartbreaking news of her demise. He wrote, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti.”

For the unversed, Aruna was hospitalized recently and has been in critical condition it seems. The actor who was busy shooting out of India flew back to be with his ailing mother. The actor was very close to his mom and they shared a great bond. In many interviews, they shared how they are attached and how Akshay has always been by her side.

1 The actor and mum gave us major mother-son goals when he took his mother to her most favourite place in the world- A Casino in Singapore. Sharing the video of him taking his mother to a casino, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Do more of what you love doing and that’s exactly what the birthday girl did. Spent the past week in Singapore taking mom to her favorite place in the whole world: the casino.” Check out the video right below.

2. In August 2019, the actor made sure to remove some time from his hectic shooting schedule and took his mother for a stroll. Sharing the video, he wrote, “Juggled shoot to spend a few days with mom in London. No matter how busy you are with life and growing up, don’t forget they are also growing old. So, spend time with them while you still can.”

3. Akshay always doted on his mother. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, he shared a lovely post for Aruna Bhatia. He had shared a picture with her and wrote, “Maa warga koi nahi #MothersDay (There is no one like a mother).” Check out the photo right below:

4. In an old interview with NDTV, late Aruna had shared, “Itna pyaar karna wala baccha ho nahin sakta, itna dhyan karne wala baccha, ho nahin sakta (There can’t be a more loving and caring child than him).”

5. She had said, “He is not just my son. He is so much more than that. After my husband died, he handled everything so well that my pain was reduced. There’s no other son like him.”
