Today is the 98th birth anniversary of Indian actor, producer, director, and film editor NT Rama Rao. He was also the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and served for seven years over three terms. He was one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema and his contribution is immense. He was born on 28 May 1923 and took his last breath on 18 January 1996 due to a heart attack. He was 72.

Today, on his birth anniversary, his grandson actor Jr NTR remembered him with a heartfelt post. The RRR actor also shared an old picture of his grandad as he wished him on social media. He wrote that his heart always ponders to get a glimpse of his grandad.

Chiranjeevi who worked with NT Rama Rao in Tirugu Leni Manishi wished him on social media with a note with the hashtag ‘Bharat Ratna for NTR’.

He wished him in Telugu that is translated as: Pride of the Telugu people and renowned leader SR NTR truly deserves the Bharat Ratna. It would be a proud honour for the Telugu community if this prestigious honour is conferred upon him. I fondly remember the great personality and legend on the occasion of his 98th birth anniversary

NT Rama Rao is known for his films like Mana Desam, Malliswari, Pichi Pullayya, Cherapakura Chedevu, Raju Peda, Jayam Manade, Varakantam, Thodu Dongalu, Seetharam Kalyanam, Lava Kusa and Badi Panthulu among others.

NTR was awarded the Padma Shri in 1968 by the government of India for his contribution to the industry.
