Pitta Kathalu Teaser: Telugu version of Lust Stories starring Shruti Haasan, Lakshmi Manchu looks promising

The Telugu version of Lust Stories, Pitta Kathalu’s teaser is unveiled by Netflix India on Wednesday. It is an anthology of four short films. Like Lust Stories, it also narrates the story of four bold women. Pitta Kathalu stars Lakshmi Manchu, Shruti Haasan, Amala Paul, Ashwin Kakumanu, Eesha Rebba, Jagapathi Babu, Saanvi Megghana and Sanjith Hegde among others. Helmed by Tharun Bhascker, BV Nandini Reddy, Nag Ashwin and Sankalp Reddy, it is releasing on February 19 on Netflix.

The teaser shows different human stories and a differentiated take on relationships. Earlier, we have seen that filmmakers always focussed on the male perspective in regards to love and sex. But in recent time, we have seen a huge change in storytelling as many filmmakers have broken this stereotype and telling stories from the point of view of female characters as well. Thanks to the writers as well for breaking the mindset of treating female characters just like a showpiece or caricatures.

Ashwin in a press release said with this first Telugu original by Netflix, he really wanted to push the boundaries of what people expect from the medium. He hopes that four different stories of this anthology and the four unique worlds the directors have created, it will connect with people, not just in the Telugu speaking states but across the world.

Reddy said that collaborating with Netflix and the excellent cast have been a rewarding experience for him.
