Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film James releases today; fans celebrate Appu’s swan song

Late Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film James has been released in theatres on March 17. The day is special as it also marks the birth anniversary of Appu as the actor was lovingly addressed by his fans. It is a bittersweet occasion for die-hard fans of Puneeth Rajkumar as James was his last film before he passed away in 2021.

His fans erected huge cut-outs featuring him at several theatres across Karnataka. From pouring milk over the cut-outs and chanting ‘Appu’, to bursting crackers, they celebrated the occassion with much love for the actor.

The late Sandalwood power star Puneeth Rajkumar starrer James will be releasing in virtually every cinema in Karnataka. It is the widest release ever in the state. The movie has a solo run for the week and is scheduled to release on 450 screens at 380 locations. There will be over 2100 shows with 200-morning shows. At some places, the shows begin at 1.00 am in the morning.

James is an action entertainer, directed by Chethan Kumar. The film’ also features Priya Anand, Shine Shetty, Tilak, Srikanth Meka and Chikkanna.

Puneeth Rajkumar breathed his last on October 29, 2021, after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 46 years old and is survived by his wife, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, and two daughters, Drithi and Vandhita.
