Chiyaan Vikram, Mahaan's Soorayaatam Song, Mahaan, Chiyaan Vikram, Dhruv Vikram

After first look posters of Chiyaan Vikram and his son Dhruv Vikram, the makers have now unveiled the very first song of the movie. The folk song which is titled Soorayaatam is composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Director Karthik Subbaraj and music composer Santhosh are coming together again after the success of Dhanush’s Jagame Thandhiram. While the song is crooned by VM Mahalingam and Santhosh Narayanan, the lyrics are penned by Muthamil.

Sharing the song along with a new poster, the makers wrote, “#Soorayaatam @karthiksubbaraj Padam A @Music_Santhosh Musical #ChiyaanVikram #DhruvVikram @SonyMusicSouth #Mahaan #MahaanFirstSingle (sic).” Fans are really happy to witness the Tamil traditional music and their culture in the video. One of the fans commented, “Only Santosh Narayanan can give 100% raw music in pure form of experiment sound…this man can make Indian folk sound to world music.” Another one wrote,“This song was like a college cultural festival full of colours, full of vibes, no acting just the real-time expressions to the beat.”

Speaking of the movie, this Tamil film was earlier tentatively titled Chiyaan 60 and the first-look poster of Vikram left the fans wanting for more. Set in Madras, Mahaan is a thriller and touted as a gangster film. The cast and crew wrapped up the movie’s shoot in August. S. S. Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, which produced the actor’s Cobra, has produced the film. For the unversed, this movie marks the first film where Vikram and his son are sharing screen space. The movie also marks Vikram’s return to the gangster film genre after Gemini (2002) and Bheemaa (2008). The flick is tipped as a revenge drama like Petta.

Aside from Vikram and Dhruve, the movie also stars Bobby Simha, Simran, Vani Bhojan and Sananth among others.
