Veteran Kannada actor and comedian Shankanada Aravind passed away today in Victoria hospital, Bengaluru. He took his last breath after battling Covid-19 for 10 days. He was 70. On May 7, he complained of facing difficulty in breathing and thus couldn’t survive. He is survived by three children. In January this year, his singer-wife Rama also passed away. Aravind’s daughter and music director Manasa Holla took to social media to mourn the death of Shankanada. She also posted an old picture of her parents.

“In jan, we lost our mother and now, we lost our father too,” she wrote sharing the old pic.

Sandalwood actor Shankanada worked in over 200 movies in his career span. He appeared in movies like Aguntaka, Bettada Hoovu, Anubhava, Aparichita, Shankanada, Gnana, and Gange among others. His role in the film Bettada Hoovu with Puneeth Rajkumar is still etched in the memories of people. Puneeth had won the best child actor national award for the film. He had played the role of conch blower in the Shankanada and since then he became popular with the name ‘Shankanada’.

The second wave of Covid-19 is getting uglier day by day. Many celebs like Ramu, Naveen Kumar, Dr. D.S. Manjunath, Chandrashekhar among others have succumbed to the deadly virus in the last few days.
