Sophie Turner reveals she HATED ‘the wives’ tag on Priyanka Chopra, Danielle Jonas and her

Sophie Turner has made a name for herself with note-worthy performances as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, Jean Grey/Phoenix in X-Men and other projects. Aside from her professional life, the actress also made the headlines owing to her personal life. Sophie dominated the news in September 2023 when news of her divorce from singer Joe Jonas made the headlines. The duo parted ways after being together for seven years – they began dating in 2016.

During a recent interview, the actress opened up about her relationship with Joe and what it was like being part of the Jonas family. Sophie Turner also spoke up about Priyanka Chopra, Danielle Jonas and herself being called ‘the wives’ of the Jonas Brothers – Nick Jonas, Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas, respectively. She also added that at times they were perceived as ‘groupies’ but Joe never made her feel that way.

During a recent chat with British Vogue, Sophie Turner about Priyanka Chopra, Danielle Jonas and being called ‘the wives’ of Jonas Brothers. The ‘Game of Thrones’ fame said, “There was a lot of attention on the three brothers and the wives. Well, we were always called the wives, and I hated that.”

Sophie on the wives being perceived as ‘groupies’

The actress added that somehow ‘the wives’ – Priyanka Chopra Joans, Danielle Jonas and her, were perceived as ‘groupies.’ The ‘X-Men’ actress stated, “It was kind of this plus-one feeling. And that’s nothing to do with him – in no way did he make me feel that – it was just that the perception of us was as the groupies in the band.” For the unversed, groupie is a term used to describe a young woman who regularly follows a pop group or other celebrity. These individuals usually hope to have a s*xual relationship with the star.

Sophie Turner-Joe Jonas divorce

Following reports of their separation, Joe and Sophie released a joint statement to confirm their divorce. They wrote, “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

Their divorce battle took an ugly turn when they fought over the custody of their children, Willa (4) and Delphine (22 months).
