To be fair to the makers of ‘Housefull 3‘, Sajid-Farhad, they give the most honest disclaimer in the form of their opening scene where you see the stupidest robbery scene ever filmed. Three masked guys with silly masks try to rob the World Diamond Trade Fair (or something to that effect) without any weapons, without bothering about the fact that London police will get them with minimum effort. They get caught as quickly and as conveniently as they finish their robbery. You are caught unaware – when the trio is surrounded by the gun-weilding cops, you expect them to shoot out of the scene on some rockets attached to their backs. Nothing of that sort happens, they just meekly surrender. Now that the tone of the stupidity is set, it just goes on a downward spiral.

We are introduced to Batook Patel (Boman Irani) his daughters Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati (Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri), and his huge mansion. Batook is so stupid that he thinks his daughters are super sanskari girls who sleep off early. It doesn’t once occur to him that they could sneak out late at night and go partying all night long, which we are shown as a part of the opening credits. In a part of the party montage we see the girls shaking their booty to get free snacks at a bar. But weren’t they the heiresses of a billionaire? Screw logic. Back to Batook.

Batook is so stupid, he thinks his daughter will agree to not marry because he has convinced them that if they do, he will die. Stupidest father ever, also very selfish. Stupid Batook forces his stupid friend Aakhri Pasta (Chunky Pandey) to pose as an astrologer and announce to his daughters, Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati to not marry because of their father dying as soon as their respective guys step foot into their house, look at their dad or talk to their dad. The leading men Sandy – a footballer (who has a split personality and becomes Sundi whenever he hears the word ‘Indian’ (Akshay Kumar), a wannabe hip-hopper, Bunty (Abhishek Bachchan) and a wannabe car racer, Teddy (Riteish Deshmukh). They are all losers – and they have a stupid plan.

They want to marry stupid Batook’s stupid daughters and live off their stupid father-in-law’s ill-gotten money. They don’t love the girls, the girls don’t have a strong enough reason to love them, but they do. How stupid is that? Yes, THAT stupid! The boys conveniently move into their stupid father-in-law’s grand mansion without even getting married. They just move in with their respective disabilities – Sandy (can’t walk), Bunty (can’t talk) and Teddy (can’t see). Here onwards ‘Housefull 3’ is just a series of jokes that you must have got via WhatsApp – the most forwarded ones. Batook cracks stupid jokes about their disabilities for most part of the film. Then Batook puts the boys through the most stupidest tests to prove their disabilities, and yes, stupidly enough he gets convinced too.

But Batook isn’t just a stupid harmless father, he is actually a sinister man, and he has a shady past. Batook has stupid sons. Remember the guys who try to pull off the stupidest robbery ever filmed? They were Batook’s sons. Stupidity is in the DNA. Hey wait, Batook had daughters. A few stupid twists and turns later, one wannabe-‘Andaaz Apna Apna’-type stupid climax scene later, all is well that ends well. There’s Jackie Shroff in this film, and his swagger is a life goal for all men – may his tribe increase. Just a passing thought – after Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’, this is the second time Jacqueline is playing a brain doctor who doesn’t have a brain. ‘Housefull 3’ has the most annoying film industry inside jokes. Abhishek Bachchan taking blessings of Amitabh Bachchan’s wax statue being one of them.

This one is for those who read, heartily enjoy and forward WhatsApp jokes and torture their families and friends – so much so that they end up being blocked by their families and friends. We all know one such annoying relative or friend. ‘Housefull 3’ is highly recommended for them.

P.S. 1: Even the songs are stupid.

P.S. 2: This film soppily preaches that one should not make fun of people with disabilities. Believe it or faint.

P.S. 3: Jaggu dada is a ROCKSTAR!
