Adhish Rana’s Jeena Dil Se is a humourous story of friendship, love and relationships, The film tackles subjects such as dreams, confusions, and emotional struggles that today’s youth face in an incredibly simple but relatable manner. Centred on what happens when instead of a pre-wedding shoot video, footage of the groom-to-be and his friends’ Bangkok escapades are couriered to the bride-to-be and her family, this musical comedy is filled with tons of laughter, emotions, romance, and youthful entertainment that is sure to have you laughing till the end credits roll by.
Alongside talking about love and friendship – with no grand dramatic events, the film also sheds light on some integral parts of everyday life, such as one’s work life, life after marriage for a woman a more. Is this movie worth a watch? We think you do, especially for the manner in which the relatable manner the story unfolds.
What Works
The narrative is relatable as the story mirrors the emotions of the youth. It has right amount of comedy, drama and music without crossing over into the vulgar area even with an item song.

Direction
For a debut director, Adhish Rana has done a commendable job in bringing a fresh and youthful story to the big screen. His direction is simple but he still succeeds in keeping the narrative light, emotionally resonant, and entertaining throughout. He beautifully handles modern relationships and the emotions of the youth, making sure they are real and not superficial.
Story & Scripting
The film’s narrative is steady and maintains aa pace that won’t bore you. The story is simple, but manages to still keep you hooked to know whether or not the drive reaches the bride’s home and how she and her family react/will react to it.
The dialogues are one of its most relatable elements as it’s pretty similar – if not exactly the same, as the language you use when surrounded by friends.
Music
The film’s music is in sync with the storyline and doesn’t feel forced or out of place. The songs – especially with their melodies, beautifully capture the emotions of the youth. Despite being apt for emotional moments, the music still maintain a youthful energy.
Star Cast
Despite being fresh faces, the entire cast manage to portray their characters well and make sure they deliver an authentic and relatable performance. While Lakshya Handa appears confidence but also shows emotional depth, Kunal Chhabra is 100% sure to make you laugh every time he’s on screen with his impeccable comic timing. Ruma Sharma shines best in emotional moments, adding significant layers to many scenes.
The chemistry between the characters – be it as friends or couples, feels remarkably effortless.
