Director Ayan Mukherji’s second venture ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani‘ has set him on the route of being considered an accomplished director ,putting an end to speculation that his first Wake Up Sid was no Flash in the Pan.Both the movies maintain their identity even though being somewhat similar. YJHD is slightly different from a conventional romantic movie,it is full of exuberance that is the persona of the present generation .But the best thing that set Ayan’s movie apart from others is that there no melodrama no background screeching musical score, its truly unique.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is a story of four characters Bunny aka Kabir Thapar[Ranbir Kapoor]-The High Flyer who doesn’t want to be tied down, Naina [Deepika Padukone]-The geek who wants to break the shackles, Aditi [Kalki Koechlin]-The tigress of the lot ready to face any thing with exuberance and Avi [Aditya Roy Kapur]-the intense boy who tries to drown his failures in alcohol. the friends start their journey from the carefree collage days holiday filled with laughter ,mischief ,fun quotient , dance and song routine till they realize life is not only Joy But It does have some pain added like their bittersweet tears as they watch the first of their bunch get married. To make them grow into a mature individual.

Ayan wants to offer that something extra beyond a love story. There isn’t any parental pressures or social disagreements. The problems faced by the characters are very extremely relevant and reflects the mindset of those living in a metropolis. Ayan takes up some serious issues that envelope the human emotions ,brilliantly like the understanding of life, , the road blocks they encounter, the resolution. The message conveyed in the movie is There’s more to life than conquering peaks and achieving targets. Sharing the precious moments with your loved one is what matters eventually. Although the film is targeted at youth, the film holds appeal for people of all age-groups.

The Start of the movie is invigorating but it slows down in the middle of the second half, nevertheless the strings tie up very well in the end and is sure to leave you with a smile on your face. Ranbir Kapooris the show-stopper who manages to be not only maddeningly endearing, but filled with that zest for life . He mesmerizes you with his gaze that make his character Bunny so lovable. Post COCKTAIL, Deepika makes her character distinctive, blending compassion, sensuality with flourish. Aditya is the dark horse who gives a fine evidence of his talent .Kalki is like a tornado of talent that unfolds gradually as she holds her own despite the presence of Ranbir and Deepika. Farooq Shaikh, as Ranbir’s father, is simply outstanding. Rana Daggubati sparkles in his cameo.

YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is embellished with a youthful score by Pritam like ‘Badtameez Dil’, ‘Balam Pichkari’ and ‘Ghagra’ that are high-on-energy makes you feel like dancing along and have already hit the popularity charts. ‘Kabira’ oozes a meloncholy melody . The choreography of ‘Badtameez Dil’ is super with Ranbir gyrating to the tunes with delight. Madhuri’s presence in the ‘Ghagra’ track adds credence too. On the whole, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is a fantastic take on romance and relationships. this one should strike a chord with not just the youth, but movie watchers of all age-groups. Its a movie not to be missed .
