Akshay-Kumar-and-Bhumi-Pednekar

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s romantic-comedy, ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ makes it to the theatres today. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film highlights the problem of open defecation in India. Even today, women or people in general are forced to defecate in open, because of lack of toilets. Further we have the orthodox mentality proving to be a hindrance to the development. This needs to change!

With a motive to deliver a social message, the makers of this film have put in their heart and soul to promote this film. Akshay and Bhumi have been on their toes promoting ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ and it looks like their efforts have paid off. Even before it’s release, the film is on the path of being a success. It could be gauged from the number of screens the film has received.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Akshay and Bhumi’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ has managed to acquire approximately 3000 screens in India. He took to Twitter to share this information and posted that in India, this film has acquired approximately 2900 to 3000 screens while overseas, it has acquired around 590 screens.

With this we can expect ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ to mint good money at the box office. It also has an added advantage of a long weekend. With Independence day falling on Tuesday, this film has good time in hand to attract audience to the cinemas. Plus, it does not have any competition from any other big film.

Though the box office has not been great of late for Bollywood films, we are hoping that ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ will change this trend.
