Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is one who has made a mark for himself after making content based films like ‘Shahid’ and ‘Citylights.’ The director known to bring out some sensible stories is ready to hit the big screens with his next movie ‘Aligarh.’

The film stars Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles. The movie is based on a true story about a professor of Aligarh Muslim University who was suspended on being caught in an intimate position with someone in his house.

The film is based on the professor’s journey after the incident with the help of a journalist to appeal against this injustice done to him. Manoj Bajpayee will be playing the role of professor while Rajkummar Rao will portray the character of the journalist.

Hansal Mehta took to his twitter account to share the first official poster of the movie. He posted:

‘Aligarh’ reunites the pair of director-actor Hansal and Manoj after a gap of 16 years their previous film being ‘Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!!’ whereas Rajkummar Rao will consecutively team up for the third time with the filmmaker after ‘Shahid’ and ‘Citylights.’

It is slated to release on February 26, 2016.
