SS Rajamouli

Since the time ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’ has reached the theatres, Filmmaker SS Rajamouli is bombarded with praise and admiration for creating such a masterpiece. However, there seems to be a little trouble in the paradise. A particular community named Katika has lodged a police complaint against him. Reason? He has hurt the community’s sentiments with his ‘castiest’ dialogues in the film.

Katikas are usually known to make their living by butchering animals and selling meat. Katappa aka Sathyaraj, in the film’s second half, mouthes a dialogue which goes as “katika Cheekati”. Poeple of the Katika community are deeply offended with this.

“We Katika people indulge in the trade of butchery, to sell meat of goats, sheep and hens, to provide healthy food to the society, as part of our livelihood. We are not harsh, inhuman and anti-social people as the movies try to portray us. We have become a synonym for any anti-social activities. Even in schools and colleges, our children are facing social stigma,” the complaint read. (Also Read: SS Rajamouli meets Aamir Khan! Our dreams of a magnificent MAHABHARATA may just come true)

The Government of Andhra Pradesh recognises the community as a backward class.

However, no action has been taken from the police yet. Rajamouli and his team are reportedly taking legal advice now.
