Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan, who will next be seen in ‘Tumhari Sulu’ paying a radio jockey of a late night radio show, has already started with her preparations for the same.

‘Tumhari Sulu’ is a story of a housewife named Sulochana (aka Sulu), who ends up becoming an RJ and entertaining lonely callers. A diction coach has already been appointed to train Vidya.

Director Suresh Triveni said, “Middle-class housewives have been portrayed as hassled and troubled in Hindi films, but I’m a huge Hrishikesh Mukherjee fan and he showed that even middle-class families can be happy. I want the audience to walk out with a big smile on their face.” (Also Read: Vidya Balan to be replaced by Tabu in Kamala Das biopic, ‘Aami’?)

Speaking about Vidya’s diction in the movie, he said, “I need her speech to have a new flow. It’s not tapori Hindi at all but the kind one hears in the ladies’ compartment of a Mumbai local train.”

He adds, “Her look will be Indian but trendy. Her night show has a huge element of mischief. It’s a Vidya you haven’t seen before. We are currently auditioning a host of actors for the male lead.”

While the shooting of ‘Tumhari Sulu’ will kickstart in Mumbai in April, the movie is to release on December 1.
