During the launch of the magazine at the Mumbai Press Club, the actor opened up on the issue and said, “As if Section 377 was not enough, now even rights of a lesbian or gay person to become a parent is being proposed to be taken away. The right to love should be granted to everyone, right down to the smallest minority. Section 377 should be scrapped. It does not go well with a democracy.”

He also spoke about his movie ‘Aligarh’ and said, “I felt responsible to restore the dignity that Prof. Siras deserved in life.”

The movie ‘Aligarh’ directed by Hansal Mehta starred Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles. The story was extremely important for it tackled the sensitive subject of equal rights for the gay community.

With Manoj’s this gesture to support the magazine, we only hope our country slowly and steadily learns to embrace equal rights for the community.
