Salman Khan and Arijit Singh

It has been an unsaid rule in Bollywood – nobody messes with Salman Khan. The Dabangg star has had this reputation for the longest time; he has ruined careers of all those who invited his wrath. This time it is singer Arijit Singh who is at the receiving end of Salman’s anger. The issue came to light when Arijit issued a public apology on his Facebook page, almost begging Salman to retain his song or a version of it in the OST of Sultan. His fans were taken aback when they read Arijit’s badly-written apology, after all he is the flavour of the season. Every big film has at least one Arijit song, if not more.

While the composers Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani have chose to keep mum about this development, there is buzz that singer Mohit Chauhan replaced Arijit in the ‘Sachi Muchi’ song. This romantic number has Arijit Singh written all over it, but the makers have settled for Mohit’s vocals. Usually YRF doesn’t entertain such arm twisting when it comes to creative decisions, but they perhaps made an exception for Salman Khan. One can only feel sad for Arijit, as he really wanted to lend his voice to Bhaijaan, which now doesn’t seem possible in the near future at least.

Do you think Salman Khan is being unfair towards Arijit Singh? One can only hope that Salman doesn’t jeopardise Arijit’s singing career completely. Now that would be really below the belt.
