Legendary actor Rajinikanth recently went through a health scare as he had to undergo carotid artery revascularisation surgery and now he has successfully returned home after being discharged from the hospital. Rajinikanth was admitted to the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai since Thursday. The actor took to his social media account and shared the news with his fans.

Rajinikanth took to his Twitter account and shared his health news with his fans. He shared a picture of himself arriving at home. Sharing the picture he wrote, “Returned home.” with a folded hands emoticon.

Rajinikanth was in New Delhi a few days back where he was to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to cinema. Post that, the actor had gone to Kauvery hospital for a routine checkup but he had to get admitted to the hospital on October 28.

Earlier his relative Y Gee Mahendran had shared a health update with the media saying, “Rajinikanth is taking rest at the hospital. I am not sure of the treatment he is getting right now. But, he would have been discharged by the time Annaatthe hits the screens.”

As per the medical bulletin issued by the Kauvery Hospital, Rajinikanth had to undergo carotid endarterectomy. It is a procedure to remove plaque from the inside of a patient’s carotid artery. This is done to restore normal blood flow to the brain.
