RNR Manohar

In an unfortunate turn of events, Tamil film actor and director RNR Manohar passes away earlier today in a Chennai hospital. He was 61. The reason for his demise was stated as cardiac arrest. Manohar was the younger brother of DMK leader N.R. Elangovan.

According to the Times Of India, he was infected with Coronavirus and was receiving treatment at a private hospital for the past 20 days. Reportedly, he passed away at 8.30 am today.

In 2012, R N R Manohar’s 10-year-old son M Ranjan lost his life by drowning in his school swimming pool. Later, Manohar had also registered a complaint against swimming coaches, physical education trainers, and swimming pool contractors for causing loss by neglect. Later, the police had arrested 5 people in connection to R N R Manohar’s son’s passing.

Meanwhile, talking about his career, Manohar began his career by assisting K. S. Ravikumar in films like ‘Band Master’ and ‘Suriyan Chandran’. At the same time, he also wrote dialogues for ‘Thennavan’ and ‘Punnagai Poove’ and appeared in small roles in films like ‘Thennavan,’ ‘Dhill,’ and ‘Sutta Pazham.

Later, he made his directorial debut with the action comedy film, ‘Maasilamani’ which was released on 19 June 2009. It featured stars Nakul and Sunaina in the main roles and his second directorial was ‘Vellore Maavattam’, a police drama, starring Nandha and Poorna in the lead roles and was released on 6 October 2011 on the occasion of the festival of Ayudha Pooja.
