During the wee hours of October 8, veteran actor Nana Patekar was found unconscious at his Goa home, following which he was rushed to a private hospital. Around 9 am this morning, the 75-year-old actor’s son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed his demise due to a cardiac arrest. As his family, friends and fans bid him a final farewell later today, several actors from across different film industries, including the Hindi TV space, have taken to social media to pay their last respects.

Actors Across Industries Mourn Nana Patekar

Ravi Kishan took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a long post remembering Nana Patekar. He tweeted, “Hearing the extremely heartbreaking news of Nana Patekar ji’s passing this morning has left my heart deeply distressed. Even as a star, Nana ji was one of those great artists of Indian cinema who stayed miles away from stardom, identified by his simplicity, naturalness, and personality rooted in the soil. Living amidst the glitz of Mumbai, he never let go of his roots and values. I shared a close bond with Nana ji. We would converse from time to time.”

He continued, “From his acting, simplicity, and perspective on life, I learned a great deal. He always offered affection and encouragement. His departure is a great personal loss for me as well. Nana Patekar ji’s passing is an irreplaceable loss for the Indian film world. His art, simplicity, and memories will forever remain alive among us. May God grant the departed soul a place at His divine feet and bestow strength upon his family and all loved ones to bear this immense sorrow. Om Shanti.”

Rajinikanth tweeted, “I can’t believe my dear friend Nanaji is no longer with us. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.”

Beginning his X post with broken hearts, Prakash Raj tweeted, “miss you my dear Nana ji .. Will cherish the moments spent.. conversations.. arguments.. the food you cooked.. knowledge you shared . thank you for coming into my life’s journey. RIP #NanaPatekar

Offering his condolences, Jr NTR wrote, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Nana Patekar sir, one of Indian cinema’s finest actors. There was an unmistakable honesty and intensity in every character he portrayed. His performances never felt like acting, but life unfolding on screen. A remarkable artist whose contribution to Indian cinema will be remembered for generations. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Om Shanti”

Filmmaker-actor Prabhudeva tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the passing of the legendary actor Nana Patekar Sir. His powerful performances, remarkable talent and immense contribution to Indian cinema will always be remembered. Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and admirers. “

Nana Patekar’s Death

Nana Patekar passed early this morning in Goa. As per reports, the veteran actor was found unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He was then rushed to Manipal Hospital where doctors attempted to revive the actor for around 45 minutes but were unsuccessful. The actor was declared dead at around 5:20 am. Doctors citied cardiac arrest as the cause of death.

The National award-winning actor will be cremated with full state honours at his ancestral farmhouse in Donje, Pune, today evening. The timing circulating at the moment is 4pm. Before the final rites, his body will be kept at the farmhouse property for a brief period to allow family, close friends, film fraternity colleagues, and local villagers to pay their last respects.

Nana Patekar – who is know for playing both serious and comic roles, was last seen on the big screen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2026 romantic action thriller O’ Romeo. He also featured in Prakash Jha’s socio-political series Sankalp and made a cameo appearance in Subedaar. Some of Nana’s most prominent films include Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Ab Tak Chhappan, Welcome, Apaharan, Taxi No 9211 and Raajneeti, among others.
