Tollywood Drugs Case: Actor and ex Bigg Boss Telugu contestant Tanish appears before ED

Several Tollywood actors and celebs were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate as they are allegedly linked to a money-laundering case linked to 2017’s drugs racket. Director Puri Jagannadh, a former actress turned producer Charmee Kaur, Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan Ravi Teja and his driver already questioned by the ED. And now, we learned that actor and ex Bigg Boss Telugu contestant Tanish Alladi was also spotted at the ED office in Hyderabad.

As per reports, around 12 people from the Tollywood industry were summoned, including a private club manager for their alleged involvement in a money-laundering. Cinematographer Shyam K. Naidu, actors Subbaraju, Tanish, Nandu and Ravi Teja’s driver Srinivas were also summoned. The celebs will appear before ED for questioning until September 22.

We recently learned that Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, and director Puri Jagannadh have claimed that they neither have any links with drug traffickers nor did they consume it. For the unversed, Puri Jagganadh and Charmme were questioned for several hours and they were even asked to share their financial records.

Also, no charge sheets were filed against any actor as there was a lack of evidence. Speaking of the racket, in the year 2017, authorities of Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise department in Hyderabad had busted a drugs racket of high-end narcotics such as LSD and MDMA. The dealers also apparently were supplying drugs to many prominent celebs from the Telugu movie industry. Several names of celebrities were collected from the call data of Calvin Mascarenhas, who is the alleged kingpin of the drug racket. ED apparently will verify the financial transactions. If they find any evidence of money laundering, they will be made accused otherwise they will be treated as witnesses.

Speaking of Tanish Alladi, he has starred in films such as Nachavule, Ride, Telugabbai, Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda, and Nakshatram. Tanish finished in 3rd place in Bigg Boss Telugu 2.
