Later, he featured in Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein as Golden, Vikrant’s loyal and supportive best friend. The character was very different from Saurabh and the series gave Anant a different space to connect with the viewers. Golden had warmth, loyalty and strong bonding with the lead played by Tahir Raj Bhasin. It was yet another Netflix project, another popular show, another character to make the audience more familiar with Anant.

And now, Chumbak, in which Anant plays the role of Freddy Taraporewala. Above all else, Freddy is a lover of food. He is a caterer, home chef, and laughs almost as much. It’s also the first time Anant is playing a Parsi character and he nails it, bringing out all the warmth, humor and personality of the role. It reveals an Anant with a lighter, more playful side and shows how easily he can change from a police constable to a loyal friend and now a food-loving, easy-going Parsi character. You can’t miss his journey on Netflix. Three projects, three very different characters, all on the platform.

Anant Joshi has become one of the familiar faces in Netflix’s growing Indian line-up with Kathal, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and now Chumbak. He hasn’t restricted himself to one kind of character and maybe that’s what distinguishes his association with the platform.
