#BanPaatalLok: Anushka Sharma’s show receives flak on social media for allegedly promoting Hinduphobia

Ever since the release of ‘Paatal Lok’, the show has been in news for both right and wrong reasons. While a section of people is raving its brilliant and bold content, some are criticising the show. Netizens have raised objections for allegedly using a racist slur, eating beef in front of Goddess’ photo, promoting Hinduphobia, and a lot more. Angry netizens have started trending #BanPaatalLok to put a ban on the series.

One user wrote, “Don’t play with Indians and Hindu sentiments otherwise you’ll pay for it,” while one wrote, “Almost every web series on OTT Platforms are utterly Hinduphobic and are trying hard to paint terrorists as victims”.

Recently, BJP MLA Nandkishor Gurjar had filed an FIR against Anushka for using his picture in the web series without his consent. The MLA wrote a letter to Prakash Javdekar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting to ban the web series.

Anushka and her team are yet to respond on the matter.
